How does the eharmony’s Video Date feature work?

Ever wanted to go on a date without the expense, travelling and general stress of meeting in real life? Well, Video Date is here to help! Meet your matches face-to-face without leaving home or exchanging private contact information. It’s easy, fun and, above all, safe.

How does eharmony’s Video Date feature work?

Before arranging a Video Date, you and your match need to have sent and received at least three free-text messages each – six in total. This prevents random calls from matches you haven’t spoken to yet.

Starting an eharmony Video Date is simple:

  • Click the plus (+) sign from within your conversation or on your match’s profile if you’re using the eharmony app, or the video camera icon if you’re using a web browser
  • Before your first Video Date call, you’ll be asked for permission to access your camera and microphone
  • For iOS and Android, permission will be requested within the app
  • For web browsers, you can turn on these permissions in your browser settings

If you’re using our dating app, please make sure you’ve got the most up-to-date version. If in doubt, go to the app store on your device and check for updates.
